What a 13th Birthday!

What a 13th Birthday!

Alright, Petey turned the big 1-3 this past Friday (18th). That night he went to a local youth group and hung out with some friends. The next night (Saturday) my wife, Heather, and I took him and his twin sister to a fancy Seafood Restaurant.

This may be a common thing for you, but let me tell you a quick story to put it in perspective for you.

One day I was taking a walk with Petey and I was in the process of looking into getting him signed up with Make A Wish Foundation. So I asked him if he could wish for anything what would it be. Guess what he said… a nice restaurant! Seriously, think about that for a second. That’s like the biggest thing he could think of. Now I have him looking at Disney for his wish ; )

Now that you see just how great this was for him, I’ll continue.

We didn’t have an accessible van and there were none available to rent. I was not going to let that stop us! I was even willing to take the bus if we had to. The only other option I could think of was to put him in our car and use a manual chair (which barely fit in our trunk and is also not very good for him to be in for longer periods of time). I talked to Petey and he said that that would be fine.

Okay, we get to the restaurant and as usual it was at least an hour wait. It was crowded and uncomfortable so we took our chance at leaving and coming back. Another simple pleasure of Petey’s is going through the automatic car wash. It was closed so I had to do the next best thing… wash it manually.

By the time we got back to the restaurant we only had to wait about 15 minutes (he was entertained by the live lobsters). We sat down and started looking through the menu. They were heaven. Petey wanted crabs, but not just any crabs… no he wanted “Alaskan KING crab legs”. His sister ordered the shrimp feast.

As may know Petey’s arms are getting weak. I didn’t even get to eat my dinner because I was busy cracking the shells and loading him up with meat. It was so worth it!!!

Yeah I’m sure your tired of hearing from me so enjoy the pictures. Oh yeah we also went out for ice cream afterwards (like my wife always says “there’s always room for dessert”).

Petey and his family is so blessed to have you and Heather in their lives! Looks like Petey had a glorious birthday, regardless of not reaching your van goal. The smiles are priceless!

The website and package you put together was AWESOME! I just know something will work out with the money you raised. Bet there is a used van just sitting there waiting to be of service to Petey.

    LOVE
    Deb

    Hi Deb!

Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement!

Yeah we’re the kind that don’t let our circumstances dictate our happiness. We’ll make the best of it.

I wish more people would have taken advantage of the deal we put forward. Not for our sake but for theirs. We had some great marketers put forth some great products. I even bought the package myself (and no the money doesn’t just go to me).

    Thanks again!

    Jason

PS – We are working on the schedule for the teleseminar series. It’s going to be awesome!

I sincerely hope your every wish came true Petey on April 18th when you celebrated your 13th Birthday. I passed up on the offer of the extra download page, did you get the Ad Genetator
product.I wrote to the Author and asked if he would transfer my rights to you. My return mail address has now changed but if you read it slowly, you will realize I am back to give my support for next year, and the next……! I must write back to General Motors & Chrysler and thank them for their involvement.

Hello Jason & Petey, I am moving closer towards my goals now and I’m giving more thought & concentration into what my abilities are and how best I can use them. Did you also get the David Letterman tickets for Petey’s birthday. All the best with ad word generator if you received that as well.
    Send me an email Jason.

  8. Jason says:

Thanks Frank! Keep on focusing. I have had to do that myself.

Jason, every time i make any reference to Petey’s birthday, it appears to me that the search engines go into instant denial of the fact? I suppose its uncommon for an Australian to go out of their way to help others especially in America. But we’re neighbors anyway and we stand side-by-side in war time as well as in peace time. I had actually written to General Motors & Chrysler prior to his birthday outlining the difficulty with transportation for Petey, and I had asked if they could both address this very issue. I still don’t know today if that email encouraged them to make good the delivery of the van, it is somewhat frustrating. If you also recall, a lot of vendors all pitched in with their products on a special page including myself with the adword generator. I fell off the end of the earth after I lost my wife last year in June of 2008 but I wont allow that to defeat the cry of so many. I would like to have a system in place where automatic payments can be generated to selected charities, either of my choice or from Google Checkout Service when revenue is earned. I also believe the one off time payment and assistance to Petey is not sustainable for the future and I will endeavor to contribute support where possible. In the meantime, I wish you both well as I too was a carer for my wife Sylvia for 16 years, and I know full too well the pitfalls and events that occurs. Don’t forget to take a break every now and then, it’s most important you don’t burn yourself out ad I did. Our Story is outlined here: http://tinyurl.com/cle76u

Jason and Petey, just hoping you are both well and to remind you that I am still frantically working away in the twilight hours to raise funds of whatsoever nature that I can, for charities.
