Petey’s Google Doodle!

Back in February Petey’s art teacher had them do a project where the students had to design the google logo for a contest.

The objective was to finish the phrase “What if…”. The students were encouraged to think BIG.

So Petey began to brainstorm some ideas… and then it hit us “What if … they found a cure?”

We went on google images and found a handicap sign and what do you know… it looks a lot like the “G” in google. And the rest is history.

Each contestant also had to include a no more than 50 word description. Here is the picture and Petey’s description.

Description:

“What if I were like other kids? My name is Petey. I have Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. I am in a wheelchair. MDA is doing research to find a cure for this disease. It would be awesome if I could walk again!

What if … they found a cure?”

Yeah I know I almost cried too.

Well the sad news is he didn’t win… he didn’t even make it out of the first round. Oh well! We still love it!

   What is Google thinking?!?!? That is awesome Petey! I love it, and they should have used it. They could use you around there telling them how to create their logos. That is a sweet graphic. Even though you didn’t make it, you did an awesome job on that!

    Wow, just saw this – that is totally awesome! Google could so totally use this logo. They are nuts to not see the potential of how they could leverage this for special days. Way to go, Petey – you did a great job!
